Flood Warning
Issued: 9:21 PM EST Jan. 16, 2020 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Edwardsport.
* Until Wednesday evening.
* At 7:00 PM Thursday the stage was 23.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Wednesday morning.
* At 23.5 feet... in March 2011... Daviess CR 150n... Washington Rd in
Knox County... flooded around this level in Daviess County. Bottom
Road in Knox County closed 2 days later at 23.75 feet on the
Edwardsport gage. Numerous local roads in the river bottoms
flooded in the Westphalia and Edwardsport area. Some residents use
boats or hip waders to reach their residences.

The Flood Warning continues for
the East Fork White River at Shoals.
* Until Monday morning.
* At 8:30 PM Thursday the stage was 22.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will rise to near 23.0 feet by Friday morning then
begin falling. It will fall below flood stage Sunday evening.
* At 22.5 feet... West River Road east from Shoals flooded in at least
two locations. Residential area near McBrides Bluff isolated by
high water. Low lying County roads east of McBrides Bluff also
flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Petersburg.
* Until Sunday January 26.
* At 8:30 PM Thursday the stage was 24.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will rise to near 25.0 feet by Saturday morning then
begin falling. It will fall below flood stage Sunday January 26.
* At 25.0 feet... a very significant flood is in progress. Emergency
flood fighting may be needed. Evacuations would begin from river
Cabins in Dodge City. Livestock must be moved.
