... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Guam... Rota... Saipan and Tinian.

* Through Monday afternoon

* tropical depression 17w... currently northeast of the marianas...
is expected to move northwest through Monday. This system is
producing heavy rain and gusty winds.

* Rainfall of 5 to 8 inches has already fallen and an additional 3
to 5 inches is possible through Monday afternoon. Dangerous
flash flooding remains possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The National Weather Service in tiyan Guam has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
Tinian, Rota and Saipan
* until 345 am chst Monday.

* At 940 PM chst, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain which will continue to cause urban and small stream
flooding in the advisory area. 4 to 6 inches of rain have fallen.

Additional rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will continue to produce minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement office or
emergency management agency when you can do so safely.

... High risk of rip currents until 6 am Wednesday...

* along west facing reefs... hazardous surf of 11 to 14 feet tonight
will subside to between 10 and 12 feet on Monday.

* Along south facing reefs... hazardous surf of 9 to 11 feet tonight
willl subside to between 8 and 10 feet on Monday.

* Dangerous rip currents are expected along south and west
facing reefs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not venture out along south and west facing reefs and beaches.
Large breaking waves can knock you down and cause serious
injuries. Strong rip currents will be life threatening.

There is a high risk of rip currents. If you become caught in a
rip current... swim parallel to shore and back toward the beach
when possible. Do not attempt to swim directly against the
current as you will tire quickly. Heed the advice of lifeguards.
